This is a ‘recipe’ for making your own spiral. You can use any thickness of yarn with appropriate sized needles, and when you have read the notes you will be able to experiment and create placemats, cushions, blankets and bedspreads.
Ten Twist Stitch-This pattern is available as a free Ravelry download. A circular version of my Ten Stitch Blanket, this garter stitch spiral is worked on only ten stitches with virtually no sewing up. It’s shaped with short rows and any yarn and needles can be used. Here's a gorgeous cable stitch that is fully reversible. It looks great on both sides. This makes it perfect choice for all kinds of chunky cowls, snoods and scarves.
simple knitting-silver grey cowl:Cast on 28 stitches with TWO strands of medium weight (4) yarn. Row 1-2: K4, *k2, p2, repeat from * until last 4 stitches, K4 Row 3-4: K4, *p2, k2, repeat from * until last 4 stitches, K4 (i think this is called “double seed stitch”)
